Today It Rained

Today it rained. My mood often imitates the weather and despite what your probably thinking, I was not depressed. I was kind of in a deep thought tranz, I felt like I locked myself in a room all day- isolated. I was surronded by people, happy chatting laughing people but it was like everyopne else was on a diffrent wave frequency, I didnt pay attention to anything today but I also couldn't tell you what I my self was thinking about. It was a weird state of mind. Some days are like that for me, I will completly zone out. I really just wanted to curl up in a comfy chair and although I didnt pay attention to what was going on around me I liked having people there, just the sence of company while I was lost in my mind. I enjoy rainy days.

Let's Celebrate

Let's Celebrate Vampire Weekend, In honor of their newest Album-'Contra'. This music glory was released last January and I hate to say it but there are people out their who don't appreciate the vamp's brilliance; It takes allot to have 'a new sound' and guts to be so unique but some how Vampire Weekend pulls it off. This week's play list is straight from their new album and they have also earned the 'Artist of the week' spot. Now I'm not saying you have to but for full effect please listen to this while roller blading- just for the hell of it lets bring the blades back.

Inspired

Have you ever felt so inspired that you cant contain your self? The need to express so great that its the only thing you can think about, with every breath you can feel it building inside you? Its a great feeling isn't it. I want to say its the best feeling in the world to have something so raw and original in your mind; a power you cant control. What do you do when you have no way of letting that expression out? Its strange how creativeness can work backwards sometimes, usually you have the concept before the power. You've heard the expression 'all dressed up with no place to go'? well today i am all inspired with nothing to do.

Gone Veggie?

I am considering becoming a vegetarian, there are however three reason's to why 'considering' is inserted between 'am' and 'becoming'. reason number one; i love chicken. yum. it just taste so good. reason number two; I don't know how to eat right as a vegetarian [ obviously i need to do my research] and reason number three; it just seems like such an inconvenience. A close friend of mine has recently turned too the veggie side going on three months of staying strong. although she does eat fish in order to be healthy, this seems like the simple solution to my number two...if only i liked fish. not that its a huge step but i did stop eating beef about a year ago, my reasons though- not so noble, i just don't like the taste of it. Alas, I will have to continue 'conisdering' and get back to you on my disicion.

Take A walk

As you can see we have a new playlist up and it's titled 'Take A Walk'. Why do you ask have I titled it so? well it's not a break up playlist, that's for sure, and no its not a motivational workout playlist eaither. wait for it. This week's playlist is one your gonna take a walk with, through on some sneakers [or Toms as you will note the link to your left] and head down town. The playlist will take you about 1.4 hours so clear your bussy schedual and get walking. Take in the life around you, the commotion, the people, the beauty and let the songs move you.

Horoscopes

Horoscopes truly fascinate me, Its not so much that I'm dead certain they will come true, it's just interesting to see if the outcome of your day and your horoscopes prediction had anything in common. I am a Gemini and according to the stars today I was going to think about money and plan a trip. if you read my previous post you may understand how weird this is. no worries I can handle a coincidence. what I am curious about is if I could have connected anything my horoscope said to something that happened during my day. does my horoscope reflect my day? or does my day reflect my horoscope? and with that I bid you a good night :)

Road Trip?

Does anyone else have a longing to take a road trip? just imagine, you and a couple friends pack some clothes, food , music and hit the road with no place in mind. that is my ideal trip- the unplanned one. A friend of mine is heading out to BC for the summer and we were talking about taking a road trip out there to visit her but our lack of founds is not agreeing. it almost makes me want to go more, see just how little we can spend sounds like it could make a great story and all though its not the completely unplanned trip of my dreams, its still pretty vague considering all we have is a destination. I suppose theirs always next summer. I am planning on some random day trip soon though and will for sure keep you posted on my adventures [ including their sound tracks]

Lets throw some news out there, free energy's new album "bang pop" came out this past Monday, augustana is playing at summerfest and a pretty awesome festival in collingwood Ontario is happening august 8th.

Cloudy

Today is cloudy, and it was perfect to plant my beautiful flowers :) I don't have a photo of my garden yet but its cute and I will post one soon- preferably on a sunny day. last night was loads of fun but its nice to be home and relax. I used my Diana flash for the first time so I am really excited to get the film developed. I need to clean right now but I will have post some music chat in a couple hours

I was moved

Today I was moved, The Antlers I've always known to be a good band and I have plenty of their songs on my ipod but for some reason I didn't truly register the lyrics to Bear. I was moved by them the story is quality. I also [aside from having a profound moment with my music] got a bunch of pretty flowers to plant :) that will be tomorrow's venture- planting. Tonight I am off with my friends to celebrate a birthday, should be some good times so I'm bringing my diana! for those who don't know what a diana is, its the coolest camera ever [film]. end of story. My profile picture is of an original diana. This super cool yellow-green one is mine- it glows in the dark!

Interesting

A blog is an interesting thing, I have spent the better part of my day getting to know my way around the blogging world - I do belive I have failed. oh well. I did start a twitter account though [yay] so be sure to "follow" me here and there, I go by indieblissblog - very origional. thats one thing I've gotta say I dont like about twitter, at least with facebook you dont have to make a unique name, and be angry when the one you wanted is gone. I think from now on I'll forget about trying to learn all about blogging and just figure it out on my way, I do hope to get some music playing on here soon. I also want to say that all photo's on my posts [ not blog ingeneral ] are taken by yours truly [unless stated otherwise ] and since its summer and Im lovin it they will mostly by nature and possible erelevent to my posting's topic, haha.

Somthing about summer

There is something about summer that just makes me feel alive. Today I laid in a patch of clovers and spent a about an hour looking for a four leafed clover, I didn't but that's not the point, it felt great to do nothing outside. I recommend every one try this - it's almost better than a spa. and while your getting you zen on outside why not have an amazing play list to get you in the mood!

today I promise to get my first play list on here, I'm going to call it the Hammock play list because I feel its best listened to in a hammock :)

Ah yes, it's about time I popped my "blog-cherry" and what better way to do so than in name of all that is indie! From music, fashion, photography, books, movies, stores, poetry, anything and everything that represents indipendant thinking and freedom. This summer seemed like the perfect opprotunity to blog and so here I am, I'll do my best to represent indie and hope on learning alot more!
